The Tiny Tigers program is specially designed for preschool and early elementary students ages 4 to 6. At this age, children are full of energy and curiosity, and martial arts training provides a healthy and structured outlet for both.
Our Tiny Tigers classes focus on helping young students develop strong character foundations such as respect, courtesy, discipline, and self-control. These life skills are introduced in simple ways that children can understand and practice both inside and outside the classroom.
In addition to character development, the program focuses heavily on motor skill development and coordination. Through age-appropriate drills and activities, students improve balance, agility, body awareness, and their ability to follow instructions.
Classes are taught using teaching methods specifically designed for this age group. The training environment is safe, energetic, and engaging, helping students stay focused while still having fun.
Each patch represents progress, effort, and the development of new martial arts skills. When students graduate from the Tiny Tigers program, they transition smoothly into the Karate for Kids program, where they continue building on the same values and training foundation they have already developed. For many families, Tiny Tigers is the first step in a lifelong martial arts journey.

The Karate for Kids program is one of the most recognized youth martial arts programs in the world. Designed for children ages 7 to 11, it combines traditional Songahm Taekwondo training with a strong focus on character development and personal growth.
This program teaches students far more than just punches and kicks. It is built around the idea that martial arts should help children grow into strong, confident, and respectful individuals.
Throughout the year, students learn and practice important life skills through monthly character themes, including:
Goals
Perseverance
Self Control
Confidence
Courtesy
Respect
Integrity
Self Esteem
Each theme becomes part of the training environment. Students learn how these values apply not just in martial arts class, but at school, at home, and in everyday life. Physically, students learn the fundamentals of Songahm Taekwondo, including forms, kicks, strikes, blocks, and basic self defense. Classes help improve coordination, balance, flexibility, and overall physical fitness.
The Karate for Kids program also encourages goal setting and personal achievement. Students work toward earning their next belt level while learning that progress comes through effort, consistency, and a positive attitude.
Parents often notice improvements in:
Focus in school
Listening skills
Self discipline
Confidence
Respect toward others
The Karate for Kids program provides a strong foundation for young students who want to grow in martial arts while developing skills that help them succeed in life.

The Teen and Adult program offers training in what many consider one of the most dynamic martial arts in the world: Taekwondo.
Known for its powerful kicking techniques, fast hand strikes, and strong discipline, Taekwondo provides both a challenging workout and practical self-defense training.
While the techniques themselves are centuries old, our training methods continue to evolve to keep pace with the needs of modern students.
Teens and adults come to martial arts for many different reasons. Some want to get in better shape. Others want to learn self-defense or challenge themselves mentally and physically. Many simply want to try something new.
One thing we tell every new student is simple. You do not need to be in shape to start. You get in shape by training.
Students begin at their own pace. Some come in already athletic, while others may be working to improve their fitness or flexibility.
Training in Songahm Taekwondo provides several key benefits.
Fitness
Taekwondo training develops both strength and speed. Large muscle groups in the core provide power, while fast muscles in the arms and legs generate quick techniques. Over time, students improve endurance, coordination, balance, and flexibility.
Self Defense
Taekwondo teaches practical self-defense techniques using speed, timing, and leverage. Students learn how to use their body effectively to protect themselves if necessary. For many students, simply knowing they have these skills creates a strong sense of confidence.
Self Confidence
Confidence grows through achievement. Each belt level represents new goals reached through dedication and effort. Over time, students develop discipline and a belief in their ability to overcome challenges both inside and outside the classroom.
Many students start martial arts as teenagers or adults and continue training for years. Some even earn their black belts later in life. Age is never a barrier.
As one Korean proverb says:
“A turtle only travels when it sticks its neck out.”
Martial arts begins with that first step.
